BURBAGE, CARL WARK FORT, GRINDLEFORD & PADLEY GORGE

Distance Approx 7.5 miles (Approx 4 hours plus breaks)
Elevation: Total accent 1155 Ft

Come and join in on this fab walk. There’s lots of stunning scenery to take in and there’s an option to do the longer route of 7.5 miles or, if you just want a gentle stroll, a shorter route of 3.5 miles.
Meet at Upper Burbage North Bridge car park 9.30 am, ready to walk at 10.00 am prompt.

If there are no available parking spaces left here you'll be able to find a space somewhere within a few hundred yards on either side on the road.

The Route
Burgage North, Higger Tor, Carl Wark Fort, Over Owler Tor, Millstone Edge, Lawrence Field, Grindleford Station, Upper Yarncliffe Wood, Padley Gorge and back to Burbage North.
We set off from Burbage North and head south down Fiddler’s Elbow to Higger Tor and Carl Wark Fort then west to Rain Gauge and then south via Over Owler Tor, Millstone Edge, Lawrence Field, Bole Hill and Grindleford Station.
From Grindleford Station, we head up through Upper Yarncliffe Wood, Padley Gorge and finish the last stretch of the walk up the East side path to Burbage North.

For those of you who are up for a drink after the walk, the Norfolk Arms Pub is only 1.5 miles away.

Bring refreshments, waterproofs, fluids and your camera's lots of photo opportunities.

(WEAR WALKING BOOTS/SHOES - NO JEANS!)

We are a group of like-minded adults who share the same interest, the great outdoors.
Our leaders/event hosts are volunteers, they're there to guide groups on walks in the countryside, they're not responsible for each and every participant other than themselves.
It is expected that all participants to be fully responsible for themselves and their own safety, we do not employ first aiders or qualified walk leaders. Participants are also expected to attend every walk with suitable clothing, footwear and any other equipment, that includes waterproofs for wet weather and walking poles if you need them regularly. Enough food and drink for the day is also required.
