The Great Glen Way has been walked by so many over the years, since it opened in 2002. Unlike it's " Big Sister" The West Highland Way, this is shorter but by no means less beautiful.

It follows the natural fault line on the Great Glen, which divides Scotland from coast to coast, stretching for 73 miles across the Highlands from Fort William to Inverness, it can be walked in either direction , but walking towards Inverness puts the sun and prevailing winds behind you.

The Great Glen Way is a good introduction to long distance walking on lower level paths and easier walking for the less experienced walkers.

Much of the route follows the towpath of the Caledonian Canal, and runs the entire length of Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and the forests above Loch Ness.

We are a group of like-minded adults who share the same interest, the great outdoors.
This a a guide to what we do and what we expect from our members.
Our leaders/event hosts are volunteers, they're there to guide groups on walks in the countryside, they're not responsible for each and every participant other than themselves.
It is expected that all participants to be fully responsible for themselves and their own safety, we do not employ first aiders or qualified walk leaders. Participants are also expected to attend every walk with suitable clothing, footwear and any other equipment, that includes waterproofs for wet weather and walking poles if you need them regularly. Enough food and drink for the day is also required.
