Twas the day before Christmas walk

We will meet at 9.45am in edale car park outside the toilet block. You should spot me easily as I will have a yellow Labrador with me wearing his sparkly christmas bandana. It is a pay and display car park. Details of where it is are below. At 10.00 am we will start walking. We do not wait for anyone who is late I am afraid.
The walk will be at a leisurely pace to suit all of the group. We will head up the nab then make our way up onto the kinder plateau. Hopefully we should get good views of the mam tor ridge. We will head west towards Crowden Clough. It is a lovely walk from here back down, and across the fields to the nags head. Maybe a swift one in here for anyone interested if we can get in!! then back home in time for the night before Christmas. Distance is about 7. 3 miles and should take us 4-4.5 hours.
Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead around livestock. There are usually quite a lot of sheep hanging around.
Bring lunch, snacks, drink and some additional warm clothing when we stop for a break. We will have lunch and breaks on the hill. Boots with a good grip essential plus hat, gloves and warm jacket and trousers. A neck warmer is good too, If it is snowy and icy on kinder you will need to have with you some spikes to do this walk safely. I’ll message everyone day before the walk to confirm weather forecast.
