This is a very picturesque 9 mile walk from Tansley, it comes graded a moderate walk with an accumulated elevation gain of 1310ft. Includes a couple of climbs but nothing too strenuous although a good level of fitness is required.

From Tansley we will head over to Riber and Riber Castle which is steeped in local history.. From here we will hike into Matlock Bath and then onto the fabulous sight of Lumsdale Falls. The Falls are quite a spectacular, an awesome waterfall to say the least!. Here we also have peaceful ponds to see. The valley is oozing with history dating back to the 17th Century, when the water - powered mills were fuelled by Bentley Brook, the brook that feeds into Lumsdale Falls, a real gem of a place for photography lovers. We will break up the day with a 10 minute break initially, and then a 25 minute lunch stop and a further, optional pub stop at The Gate Pub on our return in Tansley.

This will be a steady paced walk, taking our time and taking in the surroundings, and getting to know everyone, making it a great social experience. Sharing our like minded interests of the great outdoors. This walk is also advertised on my Facebook walking group, HaPpY Walkers, we're are all about supporting each other, that includes our mental health. Sharing laughter and making good memories.

We will be meeting at The Gate Pub in Tansley. Please be mindful of parking, park on the roadside just outside of the pub, usually a fair amount of spaces available.

See you all there, this is a walk not to be missed !

Craig.
