Metamorphosis May

Write about changes, evolution, and transformation! We’re taking inspiration from Kafka’s Metamorphosis.

Let’s go for 2-3 poems each any length and we’ll all decide on your best!

Dear mom and dad,

I’m pretty sure my camp counselor is a vampire.

Inspiration: Goosebumps, Tucker and Dale VS Evil, Sleepaway Camp, Scream…..

Prompt: Imagine your character is a adult, child or counselor at a summer/retreat/vacation camp that is secretly the setting of a horror-comedy movie!

Goal: Write a letter home to family/friends from the character’s perspective, detailing the happenings at camp, whether they be hilarious, creepy, or just plain strange. Feel free to write multiple, responses or just the one.

This month we will be writing six word narratives inspired by Hemingway. This means you will be challenged to write an entire story beginning, middle, and end all in six words.

Little different this month…. Instead of bringing a prepared piece we’re writing in person!!!

Here’s the challenge: Draw a setting, character, and conflict and write a short story or one act play including your selected options in twenty minutes. Prepare for hilarity and creativity galore! One of my favorite prompts!

A Pirate baking a cake in space.

Who knows…. It’s all in the luck of the draw!
