About us

Have you ever felt that society assumes everyone should be married, partnered, or looking for a relationship? Have you ever been treated differently because you're single—or found yourself in social situations where everything seems designed for couples?
There's a term for some of this: singlism—the stereotyping or unfair treatment of people because they are single. It can range from seemingly harmless comments like “Why are you still single?” to feeling overlooked socially, being treated differently at work or within families, or simply encountering the assumption that a life without a romantic partner is somehow incomplete.
This group is for never married or partnered adults aged 45 plus, who would like to meet other people who understand the struggles of these experiences. But this group will do more than focus on the challenges of singlehood and singlism. We will also celebrate the freedoms that singlehood allows us and we will foster connections and a sense of wellbeing so that we can all thrive.
Please join me in this experiment to create an environment where each of us are recognized as the valuable and vibrant people that we are.
