10th Annual Colorado Pollinator Summit: Empowered for Pollinators
Williams Village, Intersection of Baseline Road & 30th Street, Boulder, CO, USThis year, to honor our first decade of collaborative pollinator conservation efforts in Colorado, we have organized a 2-day Summit with 3 keynote speakers, followed by the first-ever (free!) Youth Pollinator Summit which will bring middle and high school students together at the CU Museum of Natural History to advocate for Colorado’s pollinators.
We are honored to welcome Dr. Samuel Ramsey—leader of the Boulder Bee Lab as the Endowed Assistant Professor of Entomology at the BioFrontiers Institute at CU Boulder—and Dr. Jonathan Lundgren—agroecologist, Director of ECDYSIS Foundation, and CEO of Blue Dasher Farm, as our keynote speakers on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Dr. Nick Haddad, co-lead of the Long Term Ecological Research site at Kellogg Biological Station of Michigan State University and author of The Last Butterflies: A Scientist’s Quest to Save a Rare and Vanishing Creature, will provide our closing keynote address.
The Summit is designed for organizations, agencies, farmers, beekeepers, professionals, educators, businesses, land managers, researchers, and individuals actively working to conserve and protect pollinators and their habitats.
With this year’s Summit focus on empowerment, we will:- Connect researchers and practitioners to propose solutions for the challenges facing Colorado’s pollinators;
- Envision the next 10 years of progress for pollinator conservation;
- Explore how our state can leverage recent successes to do more for pollinator conservation.
