What we’re about

The purpose of this group is to explore ways how to support people or organisations in improving their decision making to be more sustainable. Sustainability includes measures to reduce human impact on climate as well as sustainable use of the limited earth resources.
We welcome people, from all kind of background, who want to lend some time by preparing and contributing to a number of co-creating team meetings exploring ideas to support decision making becoming more sustainability driven. The idea is that in a limited number of meetings we try to come up with an approach which may be further developed in a next phase.
The group should consist of volunteers with a professional mind-set. It should be a great opportunity to learn and meet people who want to put considerable brain power into developing sustainability for the wider community.
In the first meeting I would like to discuss and agree the framework for the methodology to apply. So I am looking for people who can help me out on this.
The approach for the initial exploration should be based on an established methodology, like for example Design Thinking (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_thinking). Another source of inspiration could be “social hackathons”, albeit not necessarily with the coding.
The group is a success if we can come up with at least 1 idea which some members would like to explore further.

One idea could be to setup a “wiki” / “open source” platform like collaboration in which groups gather sustainability information about the production process of goods (or even services?). This information is shared on an open platform which allow others to develop services. There are already “sustainability rating” companies / organizations. However the objective of the envisioned approach is to create a transparent information database. The approach should be able to handle evolving rating methodologies. A question to address is whether the platform should provide assessments or just gather data.
Anyway, this is just an idea which could be explored. More ideas are welcome!
