Agenda
6:30 p.m. Sign in / Drinks & Snacks
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. -- Program
Demo 1: Sai Ramachandran, presenting Kheera
In his 12+ years developing software professionally, Sai Ramachandran, has worked on Wall Street building and maintaining Equities trading systems, taught himself Objective-C to make mobile apps for Fortune 500 clients like Pepsi and Thermo Fisher Scientific and most recently, architecting automation strategies for an Atlanta based cable company.
He says his biggest motivation as a developer has been to figure out how to do get paid to do the least amount of work possible and tonight's demo should convince you of that.
Kheera enables developers to convert stories into executable tests within minutes. Having written and maintained hundreds, if not thousands, of automated tests, Sai finally got tired of writing boilerplate code again and again. So he wrote this wrapper around Cucumber+Selenium which lets him execute Feature files without writing a single line of Java code. No Page Objects, No StepDefs, just a feature file which runs from the command line. And oh, this works on any website, just like regular Cucumber+Selenium.
Demo 2: Mike Donnellan, Analytics Architect
For more than 20 years, Mike Donnellan has immersed himself in Microsoft technology and has followed the evolution of the tech behemoth’s offerings down some interesting and product paths.
Mike will demo some of Microsoft’s cooler data analytics capabilities and show us some of the tools offered by Microsoft, such as real-time analysis of social media. It promises to be interesting!
Mike Donnellan is a business strategist, data engineer, and IT generalist who specializes in growth strategies, mathematical modeling, data warehousing and analysis, and business intelligence. While much of his recent work has been in the nonprofit arena, his knowledge and skills obviously extend to the for-profit world. From a technical point of view, Mike is a top-to-bottom, end-to-end Microsoft data stack, architect and developer.
