[📢 Talk #1] – Build Your Own IoT! Fun With Raspberry Pi
Talk details:
This talk will discuss building a basic streaming data pipeline for IoT applications. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Raspberry Pi, Confluent Kafka + Kafka Connect, and solar power generation.

Speaker summary:
A.J. is a passionate dataholic who can't go more than a few days without getting his data fix. With a background in process engineering, A.J. currently works as a Senior Analytical Engineer for Synergy driving real analytical solutions for the Western Australian electricity grid. His hobby data interests currently include IoT and web scraping applications.

Talk details:
To make the best use of a data warehouse it is important to understand what happens under the hood. This session will focus on Big Query, Google’s data warehousing solution. We will walk you through BigQuery architecture, what happens when you run a query and some guidelines to make the most of it.

Speaker summary:
Karan joined Cognizant Servian through the graduate program back in 2022. Holding a Master of Data Science, Karan is a passionate problem solver and technologist now specialising in Data Engineering. Karan uses a broad range of skills to create and optimise outcomes for clients.
