### Instructions + Rules

  • The Facilitator will introduce a question or theme and then pass a chosen talisman around the circle. The facilitator may continue doing this until everyone feels complete.
  • The Facilitator may also ask if there’s any business to attend to or if anyone needs help before getting into the question.
  • Only the person holding the talisman may speak. Everyone else should endeavor to listen deeply and well.
  • When you receive the talisman, say your name and then address the question/theme.
  • Use “I” statements and express only thoughts/feelings related to your experience.
  • Once done, pass the talisman onto the next person.
  • There is no need to focus on or prepare what you will say during your turn. When receiving the talisman, feel free to study it and take a minute to organize your thoughts.
  • Instead of speaking, you can “pass”.
  • Safe Space: keep everything said in a circle confidential, unless someone gives you explicit permission to share their story. In other words, avoid leveraging the sacred information you gain here for party points or gossip fuel.
  • Refrain from responding or commenting on the experiences of others unless explicitly asked.
  • Refrain from hijacking the circle: using the talisman to talk about something off topic or talking an inordinate amount of time.
