Stoic Founders Series: Epictetus Session 1: History and Introduction

Are you interested in learning more about Stoicism and Philosophy? Do you enjoy discussing big ideas?

Join Philadelphia Stoa for an exploration and discussion of the works of Epictetus. The series will include an examination of the Discourses, Fragments and the Handbook. We will be working from a variety of sources, but group members are encouraged to purchase Epictetus: The Complete Works, edited by Robin Waterfield. Participants of all levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to join.

In our first session, we will cover Epictetus, his history, and an introduction to his philosophy. We will all also layout a framework for our sessions moving forward. Optional lunch will follow discussion at noon.
