Paddle Lake Hopatcong in NJ. There are many coves to check out and several waterfront restaurants to pull into.

Reminders:

1. Posted time is meet time. Please be ready to leave the launch site within a half hour after posted meet time.
2. Keep notifications on for any pertaining updates or changes such as weather, water, or traffic conditions day of and hours leading up to the event.
3. SAFETY: You must have a PFD, rescue light, and whistle on board your vessel at all times as per state/ federal laws; however you are not required to wear it May 1- October 31. If you plan to leave the group at any time during the trip, (ie turn back early, or need a break) please let someone know, ie call or whistle to get someone’s attention.
4. Inflatable kayaks such as Intex are strongly cautioned for safety reasons. They are typically not meant for the distances most trips entail. iSUPs are ok.
5. ALL PADDLE ACTIVITIES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
6. If your plans change and you cannot attend, please change your RSVP ASAP so we know not to expect you.
7. It costs approximately $400 annually to keep the Meetup page active. Any donations to cover costs will be greatly appreciated. You can donate via PayPal,Cash App or on the Meetup page directly. Links are below.

Paddle the bay between LBI and stateside. For renters, please click this link, enter the word STOKE for 10% off your rental from South End Surf 'N Paddle. First responders and/or veterans rent FREE. We will paddle along the shore of LBI for 2 hours; have lunch after on shore. For those who have their own craft and wish to paddle again feel free. I may paddle closer to the lighthouse after.

4. In order to ensure everyone's safety, we ask you wear a mask and maintain social distancing in the parking lot during unloading, launching, pack-up, and picnicking, if applicable. Once we’re on the water, masks are optional.

PART I.
For those who want a lesson, whether you are brand new or more experienced; contact Lindsey Johnson from LLBean at ljohnson3@llbean.com. Mention our group name Philly Paddleboard and Kayak and receive 15% off the lesson. Lesson time will be 11AM. Your rental fee includes equipment.

Part II
For those who have their own kayaks/SUPs and took a lesson OR wish to park and start from Tohikon we will paddle 1.5 miles/ 30 minutes down to the park boat rental and arrive around 1:30pm. From there, we will meet up with anyone who wishes to rent a SUP/kayak and not take a lesson with LL Bean. LL Bean only rents their equipment for lessons. We will paddle around for about 2 hours. Possible apres for everyone!

RENTERS: Plan on renting for two hours. The rental is 1st come 1st serve so if there are more renters than kayaks/SUPs available, we may have to circle around in "waves."

Paddle the D&R Canal in Princeton NJ. We'll meet at Princeton Canoe and Kayak rental. Possible apres in downtown Princeton. This is an easy paddle; good one for beginners.

Because this is a private launch, those with their own their own SUP or kayak will have to pay $5 to launch. Unfortunately there are no public launches close other than Lake Carneggie which is not on the canal.

Please dress appropriately. Have on comfortable clothes & shoes you don't mind getting wet, sunscreen, hat ect... and bring plenty of water.
