Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack
Details
Room 350. Doors open and networking begins at 5:30pm, pizza arrives 6pm, presentation afterwards.
By combining the massively popular Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (what was the ELK Stack is now the Elastic Stack), Elastic has created an end-to-end stack that delivers actionable insights in real time from almost any type of structured and unstructured data source. Built and supported by the engineers behind each of these open source products, the Elastic Stack makes searching and analyzing data easier than ever before. Thousands of organizations worldwide use these products for an endless variety of business critical functions. The Python ecosystem has great support for the Elastic Stack, whether you're using it to track systems behavior, do sentiment analysis, or use the baked in functionality provided by Django or Wagtail.
Stevens J. Michel is a Software Architect at Comcast, who works on Event Streaming and the Elastic Stack. In this presentation, we will cover the following key areas of Elastic Stack:
- Overview of the robust Elastic Stack
- Search performance tweaking
- Event resiliency
- Digging into Elasticsearch, and Logstash
- A dive into some code
- Discussion of the Elastic Stack 5.1 Xpack
- Demonstration of an Ansibilized ELK stack
We hope to see you there!
