Film Club: Cargo of Courage

PFA Film Club hosts free screenings of thought-provoking films, followed by a discussion about the raised philosophical issues, for general public. In 2025 meetings are held every third WEDNESDAY of the month at the Cafe of St. Hilda's East Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London E2 7EY. The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street on the Overground. The screening starts at 18:30 pm and we need to vacate the building by 9:00pm. (note the change of times from last year!) We offer complimentary light refreshments during the event.

This month: Set against the backdrop of a war-torn landscape, this story follows a perilous journey aboard a rickety train carrying essential supplies, through a territory plagued by conflict and uncertainty. The passengers, a mix of civilians and traders, must navigate both the physical dangers of the rail route and the constant threat of armed attacks, forging fragile alliances and revealing the resilience of human spirit under duress. The narrative explores themes of survival, solidarity, and the small acts of courage and compassion that persist even in the harshest conditions, offering a stark yet profoundly human portrait of life amidst chaos.
