Why Do We Have Everything and Still Feel Empty?
With Sarah Paz

A Philosophical Dialogue on Desire, Happiness & a Fulfilling Life.

We live in a time of extraordinary possibilities. We can buy more, travel farther, achieve more, reinvent ourselves, improve our bodies, fill our calendars, and access almost anything instantly.

And yet, a quiet question remains:
Why can we have so much and still feel that something is missing?

Our society often responds to dissatisfaction by offering us more: more experiences, more accomplishments, more possessions, more stimulation, more ways to stay busy.

But what if the problem is not that we haven’t acquired enough?
What if we have forgotten to ask what is actually worth pursuing?

In this open philosophical dialogue, we will explore questions that Buddhist philosophy, the wisdom of ancient India, and Aristotle approached in different but fascinating ways:

Why does satisfaction fade so quickly?
When does desire become an endless cycle?
Is pleasure the same as happiness?
Does comfort necessarily lead to a good life?
What happens when achievement becomes our identity?
And could some of the discomfort we constantly try to eliminate actually teach us something?

Aristotle spoke of eudaimonia, a flourishing human life built not merely around feeling good, but around developing our highest human capacities and living with virtue and purpose.

Buddhist philosophy asks us to examine desire itself and the suffering it creates through attachment.

Ancient Indian philosophy invites us to look beyond the constantly changing layers of our lives and ask what is truly essential.

This is not a lecture about how to “be happier,” nor a collection of quick solutions.

It is an invitation to question some of the answers modern life gives us, and investigate together what might actually make a human life meaningful, fulfilling, and worth living.

All are welcome. No previous knowledge of philosophy is necessary.

Come with curiosity. Come with questions.
Perhaps fulfillment begins when we stop asking, “What else do I need?” and begin asking, “What is truly worth wanting?”
