The Ramayana, a Journey of Courage, Love, and Dharma
with Isabella Arruda Galvao
What does it mean to stay true to what is right when life forces us to choose between difficult paths?
For thousands of years, the Ramayana has told the story of a journey shaped by courage, love, loyalty, sacrifice, and Dharma, the principle of living in accordance with what is right and meaningful.
More than an ancient epic, the Ramayana offers a rich reflection on the human journey.
Its characters face challenges that invite us to consider our own choices:
What gives us the strength to face adversity?
How do we remain faithful to our values?
And what does it mean to act with courage when the path ahead is uncertain?
We will explore the Ramayana through William Buck’s English retelling of Valmiki’s epic, a version that makes this ancient story accessible to contemporary readers while preserving its spirit and central themes.
In this talk, we will explore the Ramayana's philosophical teachings and universal human themes, considering how an ancient story can still speak to the challenges and choices of our lives today.
Join us for a journey into one of humanity’s great stories and discover the timeless questions that live within it.
