The Power of Stories Across Cultures - Insights from Neuroscience

Details
At this free event (RSVP required), neuroscientists of the USC Brain and Creativity Institute will discuss how a multitude of brain processes including memory, imagination, emotion, abstract inference, and social knowledge are involved when we hear or read stories. The evening will include a panel discussion among scientists, philosophers and storytellers. Musicians from LA Opera will perform musical pieces from different cultural narratives throughout the evening to highlight how listening to stories allow us to travel across time and cultures.
I have reserved four spaces for myself and three others who would like to carpool with me leaving Costa Mesa @ 4:30pm. If traffic allows, we can stop for a quick dinner near USC. Parking on campus is $14 per car. If you would like to attend on your own, the following link will lead you to the RSVP page. https://events.usc.edu/esvp/esvp_stories.php
