❤️Affordances and Solicitations
Details
The fourth Thursday of the month is our time to get together for camaraderie, a fun meal, and of course a discussion, regarding something about Philosophy.
Venue, topic, and readings.
Affordances and Solicitations
Join us for a philosophy discussion exploring embodiment, perception, and action through Merleau-Ponty, Gibson, and contemporary work on affordances.
We’ll ask questions like: Do we perceive objects as they are, or as possibilities for action? How does the body shape what we see? And how does experience change the way the world presents itself to us?
Come with your thoughts, questions, disagreements, or just curiosity. No philosophy background required—just bring an open mind.
