About us

A new community for curious minds, thoughtful conversation, and meaningful connections.

In a world increasingly dominated by short-form content, quick opinions, and endless distractions, philosophy offers something different: the opportunity to slow down, think deeply, challenge assumptions, and explore life’s biggest questions.

Bristol Philosophy Club is a place for people who enjoy critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and good conversation. Whether you’re a lifelong philosophy enthusiast or simply someone who enjoys discussing ideas, you’ll find a welcoming group of like-minded people here.

We’ll meet regularly for relaxed discussions over a drink, exploring topics ranging from ethics, consciousness, free will, artificial intelligence, politics, science, happiness, meaning, and everything in between. No prior knowledge of philosophy is required—just an open mind and a willingness to engage respectfully with different perspectives.

Our aim isn’t to win arguments or show off expertise. It’s to create a space where interesting people can come together, exchange ideas, challenge each other thoughtfully, and perhaps leave with a slightly different view of the world than when they arrived.

If you enjoy asking “Why?”, questioning conventional wisdom, meeting intelligent and curious people, and having conversations that go beyond small talk, we’d love to have you join us.

Come for the philosophy. Stay for the people.
