**Well, here we are in April 2021 and we're all in various states of still self isolating, fully back in the saddle, or some place in between. We have members fully vaccinated, some waiting or waiting to finish, and I suspect some who can't or won't get vaccinated. The State of Arizona has chosen to call it a day as far as social distancing and masking but some cities are continuing with safety protocols. I'd ask that our members follow best practices as well as follow the guidelines of whatever city or establishments where you meetup under our name. I want to know you all are safe as well as help others know that PAMG is safe and respectful of others' health and safety.
If you are venturing out, planning or attending events please consider outdoor events or large places that allow open doors and good air flow. Consider being honest and open with others about your status so others can make educated decisions about attending. As always do not do anything that makes you personally uncomfortable for the sake of meeting up.
Thanks to those who jumped online during lockdown and offered that as an option for connecting through this pandemic.
Sometimes as non-theists we can feel isolated even when life is "normal" so contact with like minded people is still important. Contact a member through meetup, text a member, contact through social media or ideally actually call them, an old fashioned phone call could make the difference in someone's day. Also, which likely goes without saying, please don't hesitate to reach out if you are in need. We are a large, diverse network of people with varying skill sets. If one of our organizers cannot help directly, chances are we can find someone who can.**
Gods will not fix this.
Humans have tools for our path ahead:
science, critical thinking, open access to real information, truth telling, caring for others, medical knowledge, altruism, plans & patience.
This group is mainly to get like-minded individuals connected and together to socialize. As Atheists/Agnostics/Humanists/Freethinkers may feel like the minority in almost all regions of America, statistically we are doing pretty good. This is an attempt to reach out to those in the greater Phoenix area offering a chance to meet others, to discuss positive activism in the community and build a network of thinking, rational people. We'd like this to be a safe landing spot for life long atheists or those who may have just left a religious group and are looking for a place with open minded people. Ultimately we want this be be a low pressure social group where non-theists can feel open and comfortable. (I am sorry I even feel a need to post this part but the administration of this group does not accept bigotry or behaviors rooted in racism. No 'hatheists' please. If you are bringing that please look elsewhere.)
