Saturday Afternoon at Thunderbird Conservation Park
Details
Join us for a relaxed Saturday afternoon bird walk at Thunderbird Park as the desert cools down and birds become more active in the early evening.
We’ll meet at the Thunderbird South Parking Lot (N 60th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85310) and walk together along hard-packed gravel and sidewalk surfaces to the birding blinds overlooking Arrowhead Lake. From the parking lot, the birding blinds are approximately 0.6 miles one way on a hard-packed gravel and sidewalk path.
For those who prefer a shorter option, limited parking is available at the birding blinds, and you’re welcome to meet us directly there (33.683727, -112.186432). Restrooms available at the parking lot.
This outing is designed to be inclusive and beginner-friendly. Extra binoculars and monoculars will be available to borrow, and all experience levels are welcome.
Time: 5:00–6:30 PM
Meeting Spot: Thunderbird South Parking Lot
Distance: ~1.2 miles round trip (optional parking at the )
Come as you are, bring water, and enjoy a relaxing, social bird outing during golden hour. Everyone is welcome to meet afterwards to socialize for a drink or dinner (Throne Brewing? We will confirm at the end of the event, depending on how many people are interested).
