Intubependence Day Flotilla

We The Floaters invite you to our Intubependence Day Flotilla down the river 🇺🇸

• Friday July 3rd
• Starting point: Lock 60 at 1 pm
• Ending point: Port Providence Trailhead
• BYO float - tube, paddleboard, kayak, etc.

We're kicking things off with a pre-float potluck picnic at Lock 60 starting at 11:00. Come early to inflate and hang out before we launch at 1:00pm. It's also a good time to coordinate rides if needed. After our float we will exit the river at the Port Providence Kayak Launch - an 8 min walk to the Port Providence Trailhead parking lot.

Float like it's 1776 🇺🇸 Dressing up is encouraged! Picture how epic it’ll be when we float down the Schuylkill in powdered wigs, colonial hats, and everything patriotic. It’s what the Founding Floaters would have wanted.

Word on the river is we may float past a bald eagle's nest, and it doesn't get much more American than that 🦅

Who can come? All adults are welcome, whether you're coming solo or with friends. We ask that you do not bring kids so we can keep the group relaxed and focused on making connections. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join!

What should I bring?

• Tube, kayak, paddleboard, or other float (we have plenty of extra tubes - send us a message if you need one & we can reserve it for you)
• Pump if needed to inflate
• Swimwear
• Towel
• Water shoes
• Sunscreen
• Chair or picnic blanket for pre-float picnic
• Whatever snacks/drinks you want

What's the plan if the weather sucks? We keep a close eye on weather and river conditions. Updates will be shared on Meetup and Instagram.

Safety and River Rules: Float Friday is a casual social group that meets in a public park. You are responsible for your own safety while attending. Please be respectful of others using the park and respectful of the river itself. We're all here to enjoy the space and keep it beautiful.
We are not a formal organization - just people getting together to float, relax, and meet new friends.
