Practicing Natural Light Portraits

Details
Given the popularity of these sessions, I will set up repeat versions of the same event. The format and content will be the same.
"What's the difference between a portrait and taking a snapshot"? Intent and practice. Capturing a portrait requires intent to previsualize what you want to shoot, and then making decisions to get the results that you want. It also requires practice.
In this meetup, we'll spend time together working on decision making in natural light, and practicing those skills. We'll break up into shooting teams, and practice the process of directing a shoot and rotating jobs. Everyone will take turns being the shooter, the assistant, and the subject. We are not hiring models, we will be photographing each other.
Please review your camera functions and get comfortable shooting in Aperture Priority (or Manual if you like) .
• Bring your camera
• Try to limit yourself one lens. The goal of the session is practice and gear is a distraction. I highly recommend just bringing one prime lens if you have one.
• Bring a reflector if you have one. Any size and any brand will do. A small 32" one should cost no more than $10-$20 on eBay or Amazon.
• Please do not bring a lot of equipment, and try to avoid storing gear in your car due to the risk of break-ins.
If there's a chance of rain, I will cancel the event the day prior. We will be shooting outdoors.
Look forward to seeing you!
