What we’re about
This group is focused on delving into the captivating realms of night and infrared photography. Through the use of DSLR and mirrorless cameras, we aim to unveil the hidden beauty of the night, revealing scenes that are beyond the scope of our natural vision. Additionally, we seek to embark on a visual journey, capturing the world in a new light with converted infrared cameras, showcasing its unique characteristics and nuances. Join us for meetups, workshops, and photo walks as we explore the art of seeing beyond the apparent and capturing the world in a unique and creative way.

See all- Scituate Lighthouse Star TrailsScituate Lighthouse, Scituate, MA
Sorry for the short notice! I just realized tomorrow is August 7th, which is National Lighthouse Day, and as I am obsessed with these structures, let's celebrate it by photographing the lighthouse that ignited my fascination!
Join me at Scituate Lighthouse, which holds the distinction of being the fifth-oldest lighthouse in New England and the eleventh-oldest in the United States. As night falls, we will have the opportunity to photograph the star trails (if the skies cooperate). We will explore different methods of photographing the lighthouse, including long exposure stacking and star trails (cloud-dependent!). The featured image shows a cloud stack and star trails from a moonrise.
As there is substantial smoke, the Moon once it's high in the sky, will have a deeper orange hue, so it will be an interesting accent to the lighthouse itself. Startrails can still be had, despite the almost full Moon.
We will meet around sunset and capture the lighthouse as the light changes.
Sunset is at 7:54 PM
Moonrise is at 7:21 PM
Blue hour starts at 8:15 PM
Nautical twilight starts at 9:03 PMWhat to Bring:
