Sunday July 14, Model in the Woods Lighting Workshop

Details
Our theme again this July, will be a "Model in the Woods." Join us for a beautiful and scenic setting with twisted Pines and Aspen trees near the picturesque areas of Woods Canyon Lake and the vista of the Mogollon Rim.
Need a creative and adventurous Summer outing set with pine and Aspen? Join us for our upcoming Outdoor Lighting Workshop in Payson AZ, at Woods Canyon Lake and the Mogollon Rim on July 14, 2019
The unique element of this location is the variation in weather conditions. Typically it is quite a bit cooler than the valley and we are always exploring the nuances of variations in lighting in this majestic location. To that point, I have prepared a special treat. I have written up a complete tutorial on our lighting setups from the July, 2017 workshop.
Here is the link to my tutorial on Cinematic Portraits from the July Lighting Workshop: http://www.davidlloydphoto.com/blog/2017/7/13/evolution-of-a-portrait
We will be meeting at the McDonalds at the corner of Hwy 87 and 260 at 11:30am then heading East on 260 about 30 miles to the Woods Canyon Lake turnoff. Day parking is $7 per car.
Be sure and bring a lunch and plenty of water and warm clothing, as it could be cool this time of year.

Our Model will be dressed in beautiful and elegant outfits, to create a wonderful contrast of natural textures and scenic backdrops, as the setting for inspiring natural portraits.
Note: Please be sure and bring a generous tip for our model, as she will be working hard to provide you with photo opportunities!
As we explore the five elements of Dimensional Lighting, you will learn how to find and create beautiful light for portraiture.
We will also explore blending the human form to mimic the surroundings for a sense of organic composition and art in portraiture.
We will go beyond the great smile to reveal something of the inner nature of the individual and how that can be elegantly framed in a natural setting.
As we explore the technique of blending nature with our subjects, you will discover the inner side of your own imagination as you mimic the outstretching branches of windblown trees.
Our lunch break will be a picnic in the woods, surrounded by Pine trees and Aspen. You will make new friends and relax in a setting, sometimes so quiet that you can hear the swoosh from the wings of overhead flying birds.
In an atmosphere of filtered sunlight and breathtaking views, you will discover a new world of photography, an adventure in lighting, form and natural wonder.
Directions:
Take Hwy 87 N to Payson, about 74 miles from the 101 - 202 turnoff. We will meet at the McDonalds at the corner of Hwy 87 and Hwy 260 at 10:30 am.
We will then take Hwy 260 to the 30 mile Ranger Station. Note: be alert to the speed limit at Star Valley, as they have a speed trap.
We will then take Snowcrest Rd (Rim Road) 5 miles to Woods Canyon Lake. We will head to the left of the Marina to the picnic areas. Note: there is a $7 per car parking fee. From the parking fee station, we will turn left and set up our workshop in the leftmost picnic area.
