DTLA Photowalk

Hello!
Our next photowalk takes us to Downtown Los Angeles!
We'll explore the historic heart of DTLA, from the famous Bradbury Building and bustling Grand Central Market to The Last Bookstore, the beautifully restored Apple Tower Theatre, and LA Central Library.
Along the way, we'll have plenty of opportunities for street photography, urban landscapes, architectural details, and candid moments. We'll also stop for lunch at Grand Central Market.

We'll meet at Irvine Station in the morning and take Metrolink to LA Union Station. From there, we'll hop on Metro A Line to Historic Broadway Station and explore the city on foot.
Expect plenty of walking, photography, and good company!

Ticket machine is also available at the station.
Weekend Pass: $12 for unlimited rides all day. This weekend ticket is only available on the day of the trip.
The train is scheduled to leave at 9:21 AM. Please arrive early. Boarding can complete quickly and the train will not wait for late arrivals.
If you're taking the train from different stations (Oceanside, San Clemente Pier, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo, Tustin, Santa Ana, Orange, Anaheim, Fullerton, etc.) you should figure out the parking and the train schedule. We're taking train# OC1661.

Metro A Line
According to the Metrolink website, Metrolink tickets also cover transfers to Metro trains, so you may not need to purchase a separate Metro ticket. However, I haven't tried this myself, so I can't personally confirm how it works.

If you prefer, you can also use a TAP card. TAP cards can be added directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or purchased at ticket machines at Union Station. The regular Metro fare is $1.75.

Tentative Plan
9:00 AM — Meet at Irvine Station
9:21 AM — Take Metrolink to LA Union Station (Train #OC1661)
10:34 AM — Arrive at LA Union Station and transfer to Metro A Line
11:10–11:30 AM — Arrive at Historic Broadway Station and explore the Bradbury Building
11:30 AM–12:30 PM — Lunch at Grand Central Market
12:30–1:15 PM — Walk to The Last Bookstore and explore
1:15–1:40 PM — Walk to Apple Tower Theatre and explore Broadway
1:40–2:00 PM — Walk to LA Central Library
2:00–3:00 PM — LA Central Library
3:00–3:30 PM — Free time to explore the library or nearby attractions. We'll decide as a group!
3:30 PM — Take Metro from 7th Street/Metro Center back to Union Station
4:00 PM — Arrive at LA Union Station
4:27 PM — Take the return Metrolink (Train #OC1668, last train to OC)
5:36 PM — Arrive at Irvine Station

Attire and Things to Bring
We will walk a lot (3+ miles). Wear comfortable shoes.
Bring or wear sun protection.
Bringing water is always a good idea.
Bring a power bank, if you think you'll need it.
A telephoto lens for compressed perspectives along Broadway.
A wide-angle lens (24mm or wider, full-frame equivalent) if you have it for the Last Bookstore, Apple Tower Theatre, and Central Library.
