Live Demonstration: Drupal CMS 2.0
Join us for a live walkthrough of Drupal CMS 2.0, one of the most significant milestones in Drupal's 25-year history. This release fundamentally changes how Drupal sites are built, making enterprise-grade web publishing accessible to non-technical users.
We'll be focusing on these three main features:
1: Canvas — The New Visual Page Builder
Drupal CMS 2.0 introduces Canvas as the default editing experience, providing true drag-and-drop with live preview and real-time editing. Instead of toggling between back-end forms and preview screens, editors can now build and edit pages directly in the browser.
We'll take a deeper dive into the custom-built Mercury component library that provides common building blocks like cards, testimonials, heroes, menus, and accordions.
2: AI Integration — In Canvas and Across Drupal
The AI features include generating complete websites from text prompts using Canvas components, an admin chatbot to assist with site building, and AI-powered alt text generation for images.
We'll be looking at how the AI features are set up and how they can be integrated into a commonsense workflow and the AI dashboard.
3: The Byte Site Template
Byte is preconfigured as a marketing site for a SaaS-based product, with an elegant dark design, along with a blog, newsletter signup, pricing pages, and a contact form. Byte is the first of what will become a broader template marketplace, and it showcases how Drupal CMS 2.0 eliminates the blank-slate problem. Everything in Byte is built with Canvas, making it a perfect showcase for the new editing experience in action.
