TALKS
Impostor Syndrome Be Gone by Gilbert West (https://twitter.com/blueclock)
Impostor syndrome seems to be prevalent in the developer community, ironically often amongst the most capable developers. What is the impact of impostor syndrome, where does it come from and how can we show it the door?
Speaker: Gilbert West is a web developer who works mainly with PHP and Laravel on a daily basis. He’s based Brussels where he works as a freelancer and helps organise the Laravel Brussels Meetup.
Length: 30min
Bruce Lee Driven Development by Jeroen V.D. Gulik (https://twitter.com/n0x13)
When Bruce Lee started his own martial art, he took all the best traits from the different flavours of Kung Fu and adapted it, to make his own unique version that suited him best. In this talk, I will draw parallels between software craftmanship and how Bruce Lee approached honing his skill. In the end, I will prove to you that Bruce Lee was, in fact, a software architect.
Speaker: Jeroen is a software architect and co-founder of Isset and occasional speaker. He is learning a lot about DDD and modelling, knows a few things about software architecture andprocess management and through his company specializes in video streaming/transcoding and publishing platforms. He also likes cats and penguins.
Length: 45min
