About us
We’re a friendly group of Phoenix-area folks who love being outdoors.
We host hikes, walks, and other outdoor activities in the Phoenix metro area, and perhaps beyond, to help you get out in nature, relax, and meet like-minded people. Everyone is welcome, even if you're new to the outdoors. On hikes, we strive to walk a comfortable pace and not leave anyone behind. However, it is up to you to research the trail and make sure it is within your fitness/comfort level.
Group leaders are all volunteers. Meetup charges a hefty fee to host a group. Any amount you can pitch in to the fundraiser is greatly appreciated. All donations go towards the Meetup app fees. Scroll to the bottom of PHX FAF home page to find the Pledge fundraiser info.
We are happy to have you join our group and outings. We require actual name and photo on your profile.
Keep in mind Event Organizers are volunteers, not professional guides. In attending any of our events, you are assuming responsibility for your own health and safety. Be aware that PHX Fresh Air Friends, and its hosts, are not responsible for any injury, illness, or accident of any kind that may occur during any of our events. In addition make sure you are prepared by doing your own research on the event/destination/venue to be sure it is a good fit for you and your fitness level/comfort; arriving early to give yourself time to get ready; being prepared with plenty of water and adequate clothing for the conditions; wearing proper footwear.
We reserve the right to turn anyone away at the meeting point who shows up without the proper provisions. Please do not put yourself or others in a potentially compromising or dangerous situation by showing up unprepared.
Be aware that many of our hikes are in areas with limited or no cell service. Be sure to read and note the meeting place directions/information before you head out so you are able to find us.
That's it for the serious stuff. Let's get outdoors together!
