A Musical Memorial for our Friend and Founder

Dear friends of the Piano Meetup Community,

It's been such a pleasure to have had this forum to get together and share music together. Some may know that this group was founded many years ago by concert pianist Jonathan Cambry, and his love for the piano, music, and people, has always been at the heart of what we are. From its earliest inception, the Meetup was intended to be a place for all: music was and is our common language.

Sadly, we learned recently that Jonathan passed away. This tragic news is heavy for those who knew him, and the entire piano community has lost a piece of its heart.

Honoring his spirit means to honor the voice of music, the power of the connections it brings, and its language that binds us all together. Music makes us one, and he was a shining beacon of that. It seems fitting, then, that we pay tribute to him by giving back to him what he always gave to us - that gift of music and community.

For those who are interested, on behalf of Jonathan's family, we would like to invite you to a celebration of music in his honor on Saturday, June 24th, from 2:00-5:00 at Pianoforte. We will share song and stories and give him the tribute that he deserves.

Given the nature of this gathering, it will be slightly different than our typical meetups. If you are interested in performing, we ask that you reach out to us in advance at [brahms03@gmail.com](mailto:brahms03@gmail.com) and let us know, so that we can plan appropriately. We will also work to either stream or record the event for those who wish to be a part of it but are unable to physically join.

Thank you for continuing to give the gift of music to yourself, and to the community. We look forward to seeing many of you to honor Jonathan on the 24th.
