Cranberry Slough Hike and Lunch at Mo’s Willow Pub!

Details
Due to a Great turnout, and lots of fun last year, we are going to do a repeat on this fabulous hike and brew event! Another twofer for the books!!
Cranberry Slough Nature Preserve was only the fifth nature preserve in Illinois when it was dedicated in 1965. Distinguished by its peat bog ecosystem cradled by rolling upland woods, the site is a relic of the glacial era and supports habitats uncommon this far south. This hike will start in the parking lot (at the east end of the lot near the loop) and continue in a circle around the bog and historical trail for about 2 ½ miles. After the hike, we will “mosey” on over to Mo’s Willow Pub for lunch.
Getting to Cranberry Slough: Take Rte. 83 south from Willowbrook to Archer 171 east (left) to 95th Street south (right) past Maple Lake to Country Lane Woods parking lot to the loop end where we’ll start the hike.
Mo’s Willow Pub & Grub for Lunch - 8524 Archer Ave, Willow Springs. They’re known for their pot roast sandwich and fried pickles, but other menu options are sure to satisfy as well. They also have a nice beer selection.
Please sign up on Meetup and leave a note saying if you will be there for the hike, lunch or both. We need to let the Tavern know how many parched hikers will be piling in!
Hope to see you on the trail! John O [Jfosullivan56@att.net](mailto:Jfosullivan56@att.net)
