About us
This group is for people who feel called to walk ancient paths with intention.
Pilgrimage Walks & Sacred Journeys is a community for mindful walkers, seekers, and travelers who are drawn to sacred landscapes, historic pilgrimage routes, and journeys that nourish both body and spirit. We explore walking pilgrimages and sacred travel experiences around the world — such as the Camino de Santiago, the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage in Japan, and other culturally and spiritually significant paths.
Our focus is not speed, fitness challenges, or casual sightseeing. Instead, we value:
- Walking as a contemplative and grounding practice
- Cultural respect and deep place-based experiences
- Nature, history, and sacred sites
- Traveling with intention, presence, and care
Some gatherings may be local walks or discussions, while others will be international pilgrimage journeys designed for those ready to commit time, energy, and curiosity to a meaningful experience.
This group is a good fit for you if:
- You enjoy walking and can handle moderate distances at a steady pace
- You’re open to spiritual or reflective travel (religious or non-religious)
- You’re curious about sacred paths, ancient traditions, and mindful travel
- You value thoughtful pacing, comfort, and depth over rushing
This group may not be a fit if you’re looking primarily for:
- Casual social hikes
- Budget or backpacking trips
- Extreme or fast-paced trekking
- Party-style travel
Whether you’re an experienced pilgrim or simply feeling the first quiet pull toward a sacred journey, you’re warmly welcome here.
We walk not just to reach a destination — but to listen, reflect, and arrive more fully.
