Picnic and Concert at Millenium Park with Pine Point

All you Yo Yo Ma fans out there, here's a night you might want to put on your calendar.
Teaming up with Angelique Kidjo on Tues 08-26 for a night on the grass with thousands of your closest friends.
Join some Pine Pointers and bring your food, drink, blankets, lawn chairs and enjoy an evening Chicago Symphony style. Alcohol is allowed for this event. So bring food and drink for yourself and/or to share with others.

Expect to have your bags searched at the checkpoints as you enter the
performance space. There could be LONG lines, GET THERE EARLY for best results.

Discover what happens when two superstars meet across cultures with open hearts and boundless curiosity. World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and five-time Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo come together for Sarabande Africaine — a free outdoor concert at Millennium Park. Join them for a transcendent journey where the classical elegance of the cello meets the vibrant rhythms of West African song, exploring connections that unite cultures and generations.
This concert is free and open to the public.

Millennium Park is the #1 attraction in the Midwest and among the top 10 most-visited sites in the U.S. It is also the anchor of an urban cultural campus (Millennium Park Campus) that includes the Chicago Cultural Center, Maggie Daley Park and The Art Institute of Chicago. Millennium Park is located on Michigan Avenue, bordered by Randolph St. to the north, Columbus Dr. to the east and Monroe St. to the south.

The concert starts at 6:30 PM but you have to get there early before it reaches capacity. I plan to arrive around 5:30 PM and will secure a spot for our group. I will have a Pine Point Ski Club banner that will be on the ground. The day of the event I will message attendees with my phone number so we can call/text as necessary.
