A special thank you to our new sponsor - Coupa Software!

Pizza and beer will be served!

Rails for the enterprise is a complex beast -- seemingly tame, but ready to strike with complexities you didn't even know existed. Come hear how one scrappy startup tackled challenges in developing for the enterprise. Learn how David Williams, Coupa VP Technology, took the product from Rails 1.0 in 2006 to Rails 3 (3.1 coming soon!). See the code that has over 160 controllers and gives customers like McDonald's, Amazon.com (http://Amazon.com/), Pandora, and the Cal Academy of Sciences the ability to easily requisition billions of dollars of goods.

Coupa makes badass procurement applications. We are hiring! http://www.coupa.com/coupa-at-a-glance/careers

David's bio:
David is vice president of technology at Coupa Software, where he has been building the company's e-procurement and expense management suite on Rails since early 2006.
Prior to joining Coupa, David held numerous roles in Oracle's Applications group, working on both transactional and architectural aspects of enterprise software. One of his first projects there was building core infrastructure for Oracle Exchange, a B2B marketplace platform.
David is a graduate of Caltech, where he majored in engineering & applied science and literature. He is an information packrat, enjoys unraveling complexity, and is a recovering undead mage. In his spare time, he tinkers with a steam-powered time machine, but it's unlikely to go anywhen.
