Presenting: Aika – Summer Camp Planning, Simplified
Details
Aika (https://aika.camp) — Co-Founder Jenni Ojala presenting, is an online marketplace helping parents discover and book kids’ summer camps and activities in one place.
Parents face up to 18 weeks per year when school is not in session, yet there is no comprehensive, centralized platform to search and compare camps. Planning childcare becomes fragmented, time-consuming, and stressful. Aika streamlines the process by aggregating camps and activities into a searchable marketplace where parents can filter by age, location, schedule, and interests. For camp operators, Aika provides digital visibility, demand generation, and streamlined enrollment tools. The result is less friction for families and better occupancy for camps.
Our target market is parents of school-aged children in the U.S. who need a centralized, easy way to plan camps and out-of-school activities and are willing to pay (directly or indirectly through operator fees) for convenience, time savings, and trusted discovery.
Our competition is Google search, local Facebook groups, and regional camp listing sites. Our competitive advantage is a focused, purpose-built marketplace experience tailored specifically to seasonal childcare planning, benefiting both parents and camp operators.
The total market size in 2024 is the U.S. summer camp and youth activities market, and the total market revenue in 2024 is $20B+.
Top 3 challenges:
- Speed of go-to-market as competition re-emerges post-COVID
- Refining and optimizing the sales process for camp operators
- Raising capital to accelerate marketing and scale operations
Our PitchBoulder ask: We’re looking for candid feedback on whether this feels like a venture-scale opportunity. Is the problem statement clear and compelling to those who are not personally experiencing it? As potential investors, what risks or critical questions would you want addressed before backing this business?
