"Write Your Story, Create Your Book" is a series of eight, free classes that begin Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-Homewood. The workshops will meet every other week at 12:30. The goal is to finish a short but complete and polished story then create a unique, handmade book.

Classes
- Getting Started, Introductions, Understanding the project, Setting goals, Overcoming writer’s block, Building community,
- Appreciating the importance of each participant’s story and developing settings
- Bringing people and characters to life
- Writing a complete scene
- Stage one of polishing the writing
- Stage two of polishing the writing
- Begin a unique, handmade book
- Finish a unique, handmade book
Then, Celebrate!
This workshop series is for adults at least eighteen years of age with an interest in writing stories from real life or make believe. Participants should have basic writing and reading skills (at least an eighth grade level).
The Presenter
Sandra Gould Ford is an accomplished author, artist and educator. She presents literary and visual arts to encourage, refresh, enrich creative thinking and inspire. Sandra has taught nationwide and established the creative writing program at the Allegheny County Jail. Her photography, contemplative art and quilts are exhibited nationally. Sandra Gould Ford now celebrates human potential by sharing what she’s learned.
