Gilmore: Historian, journalist and educator; author of “Irish Presbyterians and the Shaping of Western Pennsylvania, 1770-1830” (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018) Peter Gilmore will talk about the religious culture of Irish immigrants in early America, how they created the institutional foundations for Presbyterian churches in Western Pennsylvania and how later generations abandoned or altered their traditions in a climate of major economic change.
