CAMPING
We have booked the Muskrat Cove Group Camping Area at Moraine State Park again for our 6th annual Camping and Picnic. Camping will be Friday, August 22nd to Sunday the 24th. The Muskrat Cove Group Camping Area is on the south shore of Moraine Lake, off Park Road. Bring your tent or sleep in your car if you don’t have a tent. This is a private camping area. We have the campground completely to ourselves. There is water and a decent flush toilet. There is no electric.

Bring along your bikes, boats, fishing gear or kayaks. There are some hiking trails, an 11-mile bike trail across the lake bike rentals, boat rentals and lots more. The camping area is beautiful and we usually have a campfire burning well into the night. If you can bring some firewood, it would be great. There is no cost for campers. If you want to kick in a few bucks to help defray the cost of the campground that’s fine but not required. We can accommodate up to 30 campers so we have lots of room. If you have questions, please ask in the comments section.

SATURDAY POTLUCK PICNIC

For those who don’t like the idea of camping, feel free to come up and spend the day for a picnic on Saturday, August 23rd from 12 Noon until 6:00 PM. Feel free to come earlier or stay later, particularly if you wish to go boating, fishing or bike riding. We will supply hot dogs, bottled water and Coke’s If you prefer to cook a steak, burgers, chicken or something else please bring it. If you prefer to drink something else, please bring it.

We will have the camp fire to cook on and will have a propane stove if something needs heated up. There is no charge to join us for the picnic. If you can, please bring some kind of dish to share with the crowd. Please let us know in the comment section what dish you will bring Please note that there is no electricity at this site. We have the picnic tables to sit at but you might want to bring a folding chair. Try to let us know in the comments if you are camping or coming for the picnic on Saturday. This event is sponsored by the Beaver County Doers and cross posted on their Meetup group. At the moment we have 7 signed up on the Doers site

We plan to have some games for everyone to play but if you have any games you wish to bring, they are welcome.

The address for the campground is Park Rd, Prospect, PA 16052. Your GPS may accept the Muskrat Cove Camping Area as a destination.

If your GPS doesn’t take either of those, plug in 2006 Prospect Rd, Prospect PA. Just before reaching that address, you will see Park Road on the left. Turn onto Park Road. In a short while you will arrive at the boat launching area. Keep right and you will see Park Road continuing on past the boat launching area. There may be a sign saying “Service Road, Do Not Enter”. That is where you enter the camping area. In a few hundred feet you will see a camping area on the left. That is us. If you reach a house, you went too far.

Try to let us know in the comments section if you are coming to camp or just for the Saturday Picnic.
