Join us for a special You Are Not Alone with Kristy Carnahan discussing healing from trauma through processing dreamwork in Gestalt therapy.
In Gestalt therapy, dreamwork is a technique used to explore and understand the messages and emotions conveyed through dreams. Unlike traditional psychoanalytic approaches that might interpret dreams symbolically, Gestalt therapy views dreams as projections of parts of the self. This is done to uncover hidden emotions, conflicts, or desires that the dream may represent. By engaging with these dream elements, clients can gain insights into their current life situations and unresolved issues, facilitating personal growth and healing.
This discussion will focus on the general overlap of trauma theory and Gestalt therapy, and will discuss the use of both to support clients’ healing from trauma through processing dreamwork.
Presenter Kristy Carnahan, MSEd, LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor who has been working with trauma survivors for over 25 years. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, she earned credentialing as a Nationally Certified Counselor and is a graduate and faculty member of the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Pittsburgh. She is currently a therapist in private practice.
This event will be recorded and a replay provided to each registered participant.
This event is "Donate from the Heart." (A suggested donation is between $10-20). A replay will provided to all registered attendees.
