Are you up for a fun and moderately challenging 3-4 hour Spring hike in the mountains? Dogs welcome! Expect snow on some parts of the trail. Bring multiple layers including warm for cold and possible rain. Boots recommended. (Expect temperatures from mid 40s to high 60s).

Bring crampons/spikes if you have them. Bring vegan snacks, water, a vegan lunch! And bring your dog(s) if they are up for it.

We will meet at 10 am at the Justice Center parking lot at 6th and Canyon in Boulder, near the entry to Boulder Canyon, and next to Boulder Creek. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/PjL559sFvXqDCgRd6)

We will carpool for the approximately 1 hour drive to the East Portal Trailhead, in the James Peak Wilderness. We will likely hike the Lower Crater Lakes via South Boulder Creek Trail, (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/lower-crater-lakes-via-south-boulder-creek-trail), though there are a couple of other alternative trails from there, and we may adjust depending on conditions.

Please sign up and monitor the discussion for possible changes in plans based on weather. Minimum of 3 people to hold event.
