I was reading an article where trainers mentioned the number 1 tip for making a healthy lifestyle change is to find someone with whom to share your journey. It's easier to make lifestyle changes if you have a community that will be supportive of your efforts. There is so much information out there today about how you can heal from various diseases with the aid of a plant based diet. I myself was able to reverse type 2 diabetes after 15 yrs of pills and insulin and I lost 190lbs. I'm not the only one. There are many others who are doing the same and there are others who are looking to start.
So this meetup is for people who are wanting to transition into a plant based diet and need support to help them out. There are many different types of plant-based diets, this isn't about any particular one. We welcome everyone regardless of where you are in your journey. Knowing people are out there doing it and succeeding can make all the difference in the world especially when it comes to demystifying what a plant-based diet can be. For example some people believe its expensive, elitist, there's no protein, too many carbs, no sweets, all food is bland etc... We're here to challenge that mindset. It took me years to make the full transition, I believe it could have been quicker had I sought out support from others. We'll be discussing science based nutrition and how adopting a plant based diet can help aid or reverse certain medical conditions like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, arthritis, high cholesterol and more.
We especially welcome those of you who have recovered from illness through a plant based diet to help share your journey with those who are just starting. This group is about helping, inspiring and motivating each other into a healthier plant-based lifestyle.
