Learn Amazing Tricks & Play Low-Pressure Games
Description: Step into a world of wonder and play in this 90-minute workshop combining the art of magic with the joy of improv. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned performer, this session is designed to delight and invite all experience levels.
You’ll:
- Learn simple, impressive magic tricks (with materials you get to keep)
- Play low-pressure improv games that spark laughter and connection
- Build confidence while trying something new
- Meet fun, open-minded people who are game for these activities
- Explore tools for creativity and play that you can bring into your everyday life
LIMITED TO 12 spots (ages 18+)
Come to multiple sessions —new magic tricks are taught each time. We will hold these workshops several times a month, starting in June and going through July.

Time: Doors open at 6:45, workshop from 7:00pm–8:30pm (short break included)
Location: The workshop is at 719 Commercial St., San Francisco, in the downstairs studio below Beers & Bikes. Look for the sign that says “Gears and Grapes” above the stairs. Note: Unfortunately there is no wheelchair accessibility for this space. We will find a space in the future that has this.
Getting there
Transit: Take the #8 bus to Kearny St. & California St.
Parking: Safe, affordable parking at Portsmouth Square Garage, 733 Kearny St.
About the instructor: Chris Britt is a professional magician and improv teacher who has performed across the US, Europe, and Asia. He studied improv at The Second City Conservatory and trained in magic with Jeff McBride at the McBride Mystery School in Las Vegas. His workshops blend close-up magic, interactive theater, and years of experience helping people connect, laugh, and surprise themselves.
