Tabletop Workshop for Game Designers
• What we'll do Do you have an idea for a game? Of course you do! Having trouble knowing where to start or finding a community to support you in your design? Well, the local board game design community wants to help you! Seattle area designers Flatout Games, and other local designers are teaming up with Blue Highway Games in 2018 to bring you Tabletop Workshop - an engaging event series designed to help you take your board game from dream to reality. Tabletop Workshop will be hands-on and inclusive, a space where designers and aspiring designers can collaborate to bring design ideas to life. Bring yourself and your ideas, we'll provide plenty of tools to help you get started! Join us on the fourth Tuesday every month from 6:30-9:30pm at Blue Highway Games. This month: "Design Iteration". We'll start off the session with a brief discussion on playtesting, answer questions, and then break out into groups to work on and playtest some games! • What to bring If you have a game you're working on, bring that! Otherwise, bring something to take notes if you want to learn about game design. Laptops okay too. Oh and bring your game design questions! • Important to know Be courteous and kind. playtestNW events are inclusive to all and we want to encourage everyone to make games.

What we're about

Public Group

playtestNW runs numerous playtesting events all across the Greater Seattle area. We visit game stores, coffeehouses, and gamer pubs to bring you new games and eager game designers looking for YOU to help them make their games better.

We test all sorts of new games – you may play a Eurogame at one event and three light card games at another. No two events are ever the same, but at every event you can expect some confusion, some "Ah-ha!" moments, some laughs, and some serious contemplation of game mechanics. With your help we're the game designers are hoping to find out what's good and what's broken.

So, if you like learning new games that no one has ever heard of and you like getting your fingers into the fiddly-bits to see what happens when you adjust this rule or change that mechanic, then you'll have a good time at a playtestNW event.
