Plaza Midwood Chess Club ♟️ is the place where chess enthusiasts gather to enjoy the game without the fuss of ratings or formal education.
Our club is all about connecting with like-minded people, fostering a stronger community, and making new friends. Chess is the excuse! Here, it’s all about easygoing matches mixed with the occasional eureka moment when inspiration strikes!
If you're an adult in the Charlotte area looking forward to make some new friends and play some Chess PMCC is your perfect match. Grab your chess gear, bring your personable self, and get ready for a cool, fun, and friendly chess experience!
Whether you're a newbie figuring out your first moves or Magnus Carlsen, everyone’s welcome to join in the fun. Feel free to engage in games with or without time controls, whatever suits your style.
We’ve got some chess sets ready for action, but you’re totally free to bring your own setup, including a chess clock if timed games are your thing. We'll keep it classy with chess etiquette, no trash talk needed.

All levels are welcome, from beginner to expert. Games can be played with or without time control. Some chess sets will be available, thought you can bring your own as well. Bring a chess clock if you are planning to play timed games.

PMCC invites you to join the Charlotte Chess Center for their monthly Brewery Adult Chess Meetup.
Thursday, November 20th from 7-10pm, the Charlotte Chess Center's will be celebrating their monthly adult brewery meetup at Resident Culture in Plaza Midwood.
No need to bring boards, clocks, or pieces everything will be provided!
The event is free and open to the public.
