Easter Week in Guatemala
Details
Please Note: Read the information BELOW very carefully BEFORE you RSVP "Yes" for this event.
- This is a 10 day trip to Guatemala during Easter Week, their biggest holiday celebration of the year. I am only allowing PP members who have attended at least a couple of events already and whom I am already familiar with. You must be low maintenance, easy going, and okay if unplanned things happen and we can't stick to the exact itinerary because some things beyond our control can occur during trips. I am not being paid extra to hosting this trip. You are basically joining me while I'm on vacation. So keep that in mind.
- Any deposits paid are not refundable after February 1st, so only sign up if you are 100% planning to attend and perhaps get travel insurance.

We will pick you up at your hotel and ride a boat for the visit around the Lake.
Gain exclusive access to hidden treasures known only to local inhabitants and immerse into real and alive cultures.
San Juan La Laguna is a tiny village (pueblito), home to cooperatives that produce traditional textiles, paintings, and
weavings. Everything is handmade, conserving multiple techniques from the past; this is one of the reasons why it's easy to
fall in love with this lesser-visited village around Lake Atitlán. San Juan La Laguna also produces cotton and uses the
Artisanal Maya process of yarn dyeing with natural ingredients.
In Santa Catarina Palopó you will find a place where there are hot springs, you can immerse yourself on the shore of the
lake and feel the water that is heated naturally thanks to the erosion of the rocks. It is a magical space, since you can feel
when the temperature changes depending on the places where you swim.
The central park of this beautiful town around Lake Atitlán is simply impressive. You will find everything from sales of local
crafts to many colors that highlight the landscape. This is a good destination to rest and try a typical Guatemalan meal. In
addition, you will find different renowned restaurants and hotels near this park. Hotel La Casa del Mundo or similar.
April 1 - Chichicastenango Market
Transfer - Panajachel to Antigua Guatemala
The transfer from Panajachel to Antigua Guatemala typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours by car, covering a distance of
roughly 80 kilometers (50 miles). The journey takes you through scenic countryside, with views of volcanoes and rural
villages, Antigua offers colonial streets within its churches and beautiful view of the volcano Agua.
Chichicastenango, EN.
Chichi is one of the largest markets in Guatemala. It is full of textiles, vegetables, fruits and crafts. Here you can visit the
mask factory and the church of Santo Tomás, where you can see the Guatemalan syncretism.
Life in Chichicastenango revolves around its main square and market, mainly crafts and souvenirs, but with some spaces
where they sell local products. This is present on Thursdays and Sundays, reaching several streets adjacent to the main
square.
We have seen the city and we have heard as much as the criticism from the tourist point of view, which is worth going. If
you do not have the opportunity to visit the highlands of the highlands such as Xela or Huehuetenango, Chichi is a good
example of indigenous culture and religious synchronism between Mayan beliefs and Christianity. Accommodation at Naif
Boutique hotel or similar.
