Join us for a series of impromptu dance events! Pocket Disco is a nomadic, portable, and independent dance party invented by the dance and art collective: Distributed Dance Body.
It goes like this: a square of silver tape in a public space; a boom box; a disco light; two people at a time dancing in the square, rotating in and out. No other rules. The playlist can be any music one may fancy. All dance skills and styles are welcome, from bears to ballerinas. Anything goes. Be shameless.
For the last year, we have been having Pocket Disco sessions in San Diego, Valencia (Spain), and Santa Monica; in parks, squares, under bridges, on the beach... These Pocket Disco events in LA are part of a wider global movement.
Join us and suggest a location, a playlist, invite friends... we will make it up as we go.
