What we’re about
The world is on fire and we are sad and tired.
But what’s still true is that joy and peace is still – always – the birthright of all living beings.
Here's a 3-4 minute video where I say hi and share what I hope to do: https://youtu.be/nZZM78penCI
For the readers :) ---
My intention for this group is to bring together the soft hearted, conscientious, maybe even hard working people who are on the frontlines of the headlines (or care for them) and offer space for rest and recharge.
All humans, all genders welcome.
Lawyers, teachers, social workers and other helper/healers especially invited
Let me create, hold, and share space with you that restores and welcomes rest and connection with self/body and other kind people.
What this looks like is:
- Going to natural spaces near the Denver Metro area and becoming mindfully aware of the beauty and intricacies of nature all around us
- Doing short guided meditations to remember we are alive, human, and HERE
- Connecting with people who also care so we remember we are not alone
- Grieving and also encouraging and networking with one another to empower each other to offer our actual gifts to the world, not just anxiously pedaling to fix to the point of burnout
- Happy, gentle get-togethers indoors or out reading poetry, listening to soft and kind music, getting to be deep without apology, and maybe even dancing and laughing :)
Joy is rebellion.
This group is not affiliated with any business or lineage, but I am an adult educator by trade and have studied somatic coaching. I come from a lens of embodiment and somatic practices to help us ground and access our own personal wisdom. You will not be asked to join, buy, or believe anything :)
These events are free, but donations are always accepted. It costs about $350 a year to run a group on Meetup, so even a couple bucks via Venmo is a huge help! My Venmo is @heather-morgan-228 if you are willing and able to contribute, but I also do not want money to be a barrier to anyone attending.
Looking forward to meeting likeminded people and remembering we are human together.
As feminist Emma Goldman is paraphrased as saying, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.”
