We are a group of Plastic Ocean Project volunteers dedicated to keeping our oceans healthy and clean of plastic pollution through regular cleanups, community outreach, and research! Join our group to learn about volunteer opportunities related to this issue in Wilmington and other southeastern North Carolina communities.

Come join us for a fun afternoon of cleaning up this beautiful state park! The cleanup event will begin with a short educational program including the history of the Lily Pond and park. This cleanup is in partnership with Carolina Beach State Park, Sierra Club Cape Fear, Life Point Church and Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks.
From the visitor center, the Lily pond is about a 20 minute walk in. Volunteers are welcome to stay for any duration throughout the 3 hour event.
Since 2022, POP has helped remove 9,550 pounds of trash from CBSP. Earning 382 trees for Plastic Ocean Project's Trees4Trash initiative.
