Deep Clone for Jira and Smart Checklist Integration
By default, Jira tracks progress but doesn’t enforce how teams follow processes—leaving the system more as a task tracker than a process-driven platform. With the integration of checklists and automated issue cloning at the right workflow stages, organizations can elevate Jira from a simple tracking tool to a robust, structured workflow powerhouse.
Case 1: Release Readiness Approval
A regression ticket, complete with a QA checklist and linked bugs, gets automatically cloned and transferred to another project as a report for the Product Manager (PdM). The PdM then makes the critical decision—whether to release or hold off—streamlining the decision-making process with all the necessary information at hand. :rocket:
Case 2: Onboarding Escalation to Security and Legal
When HR raises an onboarding ticket within the JSM project and it moves to "confirmed" status, the ticket is cloned with all relevant details to another project for the security team. After security clearance, it’s cloned again for the legal team. Checklists are cleared on cloning but can be automatically populated with team-specific tasks, ensuring a seamless and organized flow from one department to the next.
